A fresh slate!
The 2011 year yawns out ahead with 100% unknown potential. It's a great time of the year just for that reason.
Turn the page.
Get a sharp new pencil & let's begin!
It's also the first post of the year. Nothing profound to say, really, except to wish you well & may you, too, have that new-calendar happiness of great hope & opportunity. A change in the household wall calendar always prompts a conversation; your house, too? 2010 was a wonderful series of Greek island photos--those bright blue skies really cheered me on some of our drab days. This year we're venturing into William Rice block prints. Know him? I think they're great!
The actual new year arrival passed without much fanfare. Three of the four of us here for the holiday & good buddy Richard visited, too! We had many hours of game playing fun during the break--which always equates to spontaneous--& sometimes profound--conversation moments, as well as hysterical laughter for no apparent reason! Good for the body and the soul...
Also have been enjoying some great new tunes that arrived under the tree & in stockings.
Ended my wonderful break from school with a weekend at the quilt shop--one of the two days doing end-of-year inventory. One of the few times that I've not worked alone, so that was fun. Many hands made work light, yes? (...and yes, you do have to count the yards per bolt...)
Tomorrow is the re-entry day for academics--looking forward to it! Also hoping I've not forgotten everything I've learned so far over the break 8-) It does mean, however, that I will be resuming my less frequent posting schedule. In looking back, though, I've certainly done better this year than previously: 140 posts for 2010! Hopefully I'll continue doing as well...
So, cheers to you & yours! May 2011 be a pleasant adventure for all of us!
